Celebrating Costa's 75-year Anniversary, the Cruise Sets Sail from Mumbai, Offering Customized Itineraries for Indian Guests

Costa Cruises heralded a momentous occasion in Mumbai as the Costa Serena docked, signaling the commencement of its cruise program tailor-made for Indian guests. This event coincides with Costa's 75th anniversary, bringing forth a unique fusion of Italian warmth and Indian customization in cuisine and entertainment.
From November 4th, 2023, until January 11th, 2024, the Costa Serena will call Mumbai its home port, embarking on a series of meticulously curated voyages spanning 2, 3, and 5 nights. These itineraries will encompass enchanting destinations such as Kochi, Goa, and the serene beauty of Lakshadweep's Agatti Island.
The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Francesco Raffa, Director Asia Region & Growth Markets at Costa Cruises, Nalini Gupta from Lotus Aero Enterprises, GSA of Costa Cruises, and other notable officials.
Onboard, guests will experience a harmonious blend of international-style offerings complemented by the trademark Italian hospitality that has defined Costa's legacy. Adding a local touch, the cruise will cater to the preferences of Indian guests, particularly in gastronomy and entertainment. Culminating in a mesmerizing journey exploring the allure of the Maldives, this unique venture caters to families, couples, and offers an enticing option for weddings, groups, and corporate gatherings with its provision of reserved areas and specialized services.
Expressing support, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal stated, "We extend our full support to Costa Cruises to establish Indian ports as their home. This moment during Mumbai Port's 150th year is a source of immense pride, providing domestic cruising options to Indian travelers."
Francesco Raffa from Costa Cruises shared the excitement, saying, "We're thrilled to return to India, offering authentic Italian hospitality while customizing our offerings in cuisine and entertainment for Indian guests. India holds significance for us, both through established programs and our new domestic operations."
Nalini Gupta of Lotus Aero Enterprises welcomed Costa's return, noting, "With Costa's dedicated domestic itineraries, this season promises easy access for Indians using just their Aadhaar card, presenting a unique way to explore the country's beautiful locations."
Boasting 1500 cabins, including 505 with private balconies spread across 14 decks, the Costa Serena offers a plethora of amenities—from wellness centers and sea-view gyms to theaters, diverse dining options, bars, swimming pools, shopping areas, and kids' clubs. This initiative underscores Costa's commitment to delivering tailored experiences for Indian travellers while contributing to the growth of the cruise industry in the region.
